I like this Rite Aid location. Been here quite a number of times, no problems to report. But I’ve only used their pharmacy like once, maybe once. So I don’t know how good their pharmacy service is here. – Alexandru Gheorghiu

I love Rite Aid. This store is very Clean and easy to shop. The associates are very helpful. They have enough cashiers were you don’t have to stand in line very long. – Valerie Herock

My previous review of this store was one star–which is what it deserved… then. New management makes all the difference. The store in general has improved drastically, the employees seem happier in their work, which spreads to the customers. I had problems with the pharmacy in the past, too, but no longer. Much better service and terrific prices overall.

They really seem to be trying. Another thing I REALLY appreciate is that the outdoor speaker no longer plays Barry Manilow incessantly. Today, it was Mozart, but every day it’s tasteful music. Inside… it’s contemporary, but not insultingly stupid like so much contemporary music.

Well done, Rite Aid! Keep it up. – Tom Wagner

Denied medication by “Helen Kelien”

Yesterday, I went to pick up a medication for a learning disorder that is a controlled substance, but not a narcotic, and was denied the ability to do so by pharmacist “Helen Kelien”, and older Asian American woman (incase she gave me the wrong name), because she believed “I was not an adult” granted that I showed my ID which stated that I was 20-years old. According to the policy, medication can be picked up by those who are adults, at least 18-years old, but Helen’s “personal idea of an adult” granted her the ability to deny my medication, until I had to return home and send my mother to talk to her.

I have been picking up the same medication, previously in higher dosages, from this specific Rite Aid since I was 17-years old and have never faced an issue such as this before.

I was told that since “she did not know me” and “didn’t think I was old enough to be an adult” that she wasn’t able to sell me MY medication.

I’m not sure why it is that a pharmacist’s “personal perspective” should be allowed to override the policy that would otherwise allow me to pick up my medication, and all I can do is hope that it had nothing to do with the fact that I am a short-haired natural African American woman, although my family and I strongly believe that was the reasoning. – Christina Weaver

Absolutely terrible service. I called with a simple question about the photo department and some lady who barely spoke a word of English said she would transfer me to customer service. I was on “hold” for 20 minutes. I could hear voices in the background, so it was clear she hadn’t actually transferred me; she had set the phone down. Take your business elsewhere. – Emily Rothbart

I called to ask if my prescriptions were ready and they said yes. I was there 1/2 hour later and was told to come back in the afternoon. I returned the next day (2/28/20) I had to wait because the pharmacist was busy reprimanding one of the employees right in front of us. That was so disrespectful of her to do that to her in front of us. The wait time to pick up prescriptions is always so long. – Dolores Gonzalez

I usually try to avoid this place whenever possible. There is almost always a bum outside and a wait for a cashier, so don’t expect a quick trip to the pharmacy. – Sam Smyers

I’ve had multiple bad experiences here with the staff. While I find the store nice and organized, some of the staff here are just downright rude. Some of them make judgmental remarks and they say it very loudly too. While most staff I deal with are very nice, it’s just the few that ruin it for everyone. I hope they get better people with more customer service training. – Jon Jr. Osuna

My doc called in Rx at 10:30am. I got there at 7p to pick up. Waited in line for 20 min. They didn’t have one of three Rx in stock. The other two weren’t ready to go. Told me to wait another 20 min and they’d be ready. I left and may never return. Just terrible. – Christine Brondyke

Unending phone tree, called more than three times and each time I was redirected back to the phone tree, which takes you back to the phone tree, which takes you back to the phone tree etc etc. – Jacob Buchheim

An employee named Carlos was rude and dismissive and refused to answer any questions over the phone. He repeatedly hung up on me when I was trying to find out the hours of his photo center
– Ben Yakobi

The pharmacy here is the worst I’ve ever experienced. They are inefficient and unprofessional and extremely dangerous. I just went to pick up medicine for my wife and after having the prescription for several days, they said they couldn’t read the doctor’s handwriting and asked if I knew what it said. Then they said they would figure it out and were about to fill a prescription without certainty of what it said. This is not the first time. Once I took home medicine for someone else. Thank goodness I caught the mistake before swallowing someone else’s drugs. It’s a dangerous, inefficient pharmacy and should be regulated asap. – Mike Oliva

First time ever at Rite Aid!!
My friends and I went last night to thete rite=aid at 18th and Wilshire in Santa Monica to buy a soda and a bottle of tequila, we got to the registered i pulled my ID’s out of my wallet and joke about it saying if there was a discount for senior citizens, ( we all three are close to our fifties) .I didn’t realised my driver’s license was expired , she told me they don’t take expired ID, an no Mexican’s IDs, ( even is officially issued by the Mexican goverment), The lady asked another cashier if she can take them , the other lady and the other lady said no, I told them i know the law , them i asked to talk to the manager and to my surprise the manager was the one who didn’t authoried my purchase (Liz) i tough it was ridiculous that three old , clean cut , not drunk guys, could not buy a small bottle of tequila because of poor judgement or criteria from somebudy incharge of running a million dollar store operation, don’t get me wrong i have my own business and we handle alcohol, I have our employees trairned on ABC regulations , this wasn’t a kid trying to buy alcohol with a fake ID, anyways we went and took our business to the rite aid on 14th and Wilshire and they took my MEXICAN ID as good, if this ever happen again we ( my family and friends) will take our business to Wallgreens or CVS!
ADIOS! – Diego Leon
